One thing about my day-job is that it likes to throw things at me beyond my normal work hours.  All my plans of getting into a rhythm for getting back into stride on the comic have been slow to really get ground.  It has made getting a buffer built up take way longer than anticipated.

The good news, is that I have 17 strips inked and scanned in.  Starting this weekend I’m going to bust into coloring them and hopefully knock them all out.  Once I get about half of them done, I’ll start working on the thumbnails and pencils for additional strips one night a week while coloring another night or two.  It is shaping up to be that Tuesday will be my inking day because I’m usually sitting on the couch with the wife watching Dancing With the Stars so it is easy to pencil in and ink comics that way.  Hopefully that can get me into a good rhythm to where I can start posting again.  I think, under this plan, I can bring the comic back by the end of December.

Another side to the return of Crowded Void is going to be the website. I’ve been wanting to figure out a better way to do it and I think I have the base skill-set to do it now that I’ve completed my portfolio website’s current iteration.  Using GravCMS, some twig, and some basic HTML know-how, I am going to rework the website to make it something better and hopefully enable arrow-keys for easy browsing and maybe a few other features.  Still in the braining phase of it but that is a long-term project there.

All in all, if you’re still reading this, thank you.  I know it has been a LONG time since I posted anything, but my day job kind-of owns me more often than I would like.  This comic means a lot to me and I want to keep telling the story I have created.  I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on the comic, to include a mention on Hugo Award winning Sci-fi Author and Futurist David Brin’s blog where he listed sci-fi webcomics.  I discovered that after deciding to look at some analytics for Crowded Void for a change.  I don’t know how you found it, Mr. Brin, but thanks for reading!

To the rest of my readers, stay tuned.  The strips I’m working on now are slowly spinning up to Act 3 which should be a lot of fun so stay tuned!
